PlatON Hosted the First Privacy Seminar in the United States

PlatON hosted the first privacy-preserving computation seminar in California with Plug and Play on 26th February. Participants from Softbank, Youbi Capital, Vita Data, Trade Terminal, Cognito, Arcbering Consulting, Factom, CoinDesk, Human Capital Ventures, and the Origin Capital, attended the event.

Plug and Play fintech founder, Mr. Scott Robinson shared his many years of investment experiences, and pointed out that blockchain combined with privacy-preserving computation can be revolutionary for fintech, and has the potential to reshape other industries as well.

Mr. Jeff Chien, VP of Plug and Play North America introduced the history and portfolios of Plug and Play. Plug and Play has been very active in Blockchain, and was voted one of the most active investors in Blockchain by Pitchbook.

PlatON’s Chief Ecosystem Officer, Mr. Jason Qiao introduced the blueprint of PlatON, PlatON is aiming to build a trustless computing network with high performance, high scalability, and strong privacy protection and security. With verifiable computation, multiparty computation, zero-knowledge proof, homomorphic encryption and other cryptography technologies, PlatON will construct the next generation infrastructure for decentralized businesses and applications. In the near future, PlatON will also introduce FPGA and other customized hardware for decentralized computation, to reinforce privacy and enhance performance.

CEO of Youbi Capital, Mr. Chen Li, shared his views on how data privacy will become the key issue for big data companies. Users have been enjoying the convenience of internet, and benefiting from it by giving up personal data. Now we can see users and regulators are becoming more and more aware of data privacy, cryptography technology for privacy-preserving computation can be the key technology for companies with large amount of user data in the future.

During round table discussion, attendees from Plug and Play, Youbi Capital, VitaData, and Trade Terminal discussed the applications of privacy-preserving computation in fintech, biotech, and other scenarios with data sharing, as well as investments strategies and opportunities in those areas.

PlatON also announced the launch of PlatON Token Fund during the seminar. PlatON will invest a total of 5 million USD worth of ETH/BTC to build ecosystem and incubate projects build on PlatON’s network.
